French Toast Bake
If you love French toast, but want a healthier version of it this is for you! You will not be disappointed when you dig into this delicious dish. Serves 4-6 people.
Ingredients
1 loaf of crusty whole grain bread of choice
1 1/2 cup unsweetened milk alternative
1Tbs cinnamon
1/2 tsp black salt (for egg taste) or sea salt if you do not have black salt
1/4 cup Milled flax seeds
1Tbs agave syrup
1tsp vanilla
1Tbs melted dairy free butter
Pure Maple syrup for topping after it’s cooked
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut bread slices into cubes and place in an 13x8 greased baking dish. Set aside
- In small bowl combine milk alternative, cinnamon, salt, flax seeds, vanilla, and agave syrup. Whisk together and pour over top bread. Let soak for 5-10min. Covering all the bread. Drizzle melted butter over French toast bake.
- Bake for 45 min or until top is crispy and inside is set. Top with maple syrup and enjoy!
